Unisys, as Member of a Consortium, Signs Framework Contract for Managed Services with the European CommissionEngagement reinforces Unisys position as a provider of IT services to the European CommissionBRUSSELS, Belgium, August 3, 2009 - Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) today announced that its Belgian subsidiary, as part of the b-Trust consortium, has been awarded a framework contract by the European Commission. The consortium will provide managed services to the Commission.
Other members of the b-Trust consortium include Bull SAS and Tata Consulting Services Luxembourg SA. The base period of the framework contract is four years with the option to extend it three times, for a one-year period each time. The European Commission has published that its orders to the consortium under the framework contract may reach a maximum of 91 EUR Million (approximately US $125 million) over the total duration of the framework contract.
Unisys and the other consortium members will provide a range of services such as applications monitoring for the mission-critical information systems hosted by Directorate- General Informatics and used by the European Commission’s Directorate Generals. Services also include applications and underlying software management and support as well as service desk and monitoring services.
The consortium has set up an innovative delivery model customized to meet the needs of the Commission. The services are foreseen to be mainly deployed in Luxembourg.
